The previous kitchen in this house was basically spread across two rooms. So the brief was simple in theory,  tie the two rooms together to be one cohesive kitchen and dining area. We also had to take advantage of the home’s stunning views over Pittwater.

What resulted was a long, and welcoming space that feels equal parts modern and luxurious, and highly functional.

For the surfaces, we started with the rich, sumptuous lines of the Honed Calacatta marble, matched with Porters Black Cockatoo Matt Finish on the cabinetry.

For handles, to bring out the gold in the stone, and to really pop against the black cabinetry, we used the bold and brassy Montgomery Range by Joseph Giles Handles.

To accompany the handles, Ilve’s Freestanding oven, with its brass dials, was the perfect choice. And over top as centrepiece, we made a bespoke range hood cover with a Whispair range hood nestled within. Ribbed detailing along the cover in the custom cabinetry, also features on the bar over the dual Vintec wine fridges.

To keep the cabinetry uninterrupted we used a the Fisher and Paykel integrated fridge with French doors.

The Black Cockatoo Matte finish and gold handles is echoed across the renovated bathroom, this time paired with Calacatta Giotto by Gitani Stone on walls and vanity top. The stone is also in the laundry alongside a Bosch washer and dryer.

We also added a built in wardrobe to the main bedroom.
